TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME – GREETINGS:
WHEREAS, Teachers of Tomorrow is one of the most highly popularized organizations in the recruitment of model students to pursue a career in education; and
WHEREAS, the active participation and concern that takes place in the organization will play a very important role in familiarizing future educators with a better understanding of the field; and
WHEREAS, Teachers of Tomorrow Sponsors/Teachers will help provide positive activities that will give the Teachers of Tomorrow participant “hands-on” experience in educating others, especially their peers; and
WHEREAS, the Teachers of Tomorrow Organization creates objectives whereby our brightest students can be stimulated to develop an interest in the teaching profession by allowing them to participate in local clubs or classes through the Teachers of Tomorrow Organization career focus; and
WHEREAS, Teachers of Tomorrow is a collaborative program among the Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Pulaski County Special School Districts and four Arkansas Universities — University of Arkansas Conway, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Henderson State University, and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff; and
WHEREAS, the Teachers of Tomorrow 2002 project is provided by the U.S. Department of Education Teacher Quality Enhancement Grant ($47,400 approximately 40% of total project cost); and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Governor Mike Huckabee, do hereby proclaim Aril 1-5, 2002 as
TEACHERS OF TOMORROW WEEK
in the State of Arkansas and urge all school districts to make a difference in the recruitment of your people into the education profession.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Arkansas to be affixed to 21st day of March, in the year of our Lord 2002.
